Jamestown- Joseph B. Johns, 85, a native of Jamestown died at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Wade of near Crawfordsville. He had been in failing health several years and seriously ill 3 days. Born Oct 22, 1889, Mr. Johns was the son of Jacob and Samantha Cline Johns. He married Ida May Wyatt who preceded him in death. Surviving besides the daughter at whose home he died, are another daughter, Mrs. Bruce Lemon, also of near Crawfordsville; 3 sons, Charles, Deerfield, Ill; Benjamin, Lebanon and Herbert, Jamestown; two sisters, Mrs. D. Plunkett, Ladoga and Miss Mary Johns, Jamestown and one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walker Funeral Home in Jamestown, followed by burial at the Jamestown IOOF Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
